So yes I'm posting occasionally but I still don't like the atmosphere enough to have any interest in going back to being a regular poster. The goddess stuff kind of gets on my nerves, not to mention the overall b****iness.

Anyway I feel like I'm in a name rut, so I'm going through posts trolling for names.

I like Elinor, Lyra, Sophronia, Beatrix, Lenore, Calanthe, Eden, Scarlett, Bianca, Larisa (Larissa), Laurel, Louise, Linnéa, Liora, Leia, Garnet (**), Willow, Rose, Blythe, Hazel, Violet, Aurora, Ophelia, Cassiopeia, Minerva, Imani, Antigone, Lilac, Lily, Heather, Primrose, Rosemary, Veronica, Jasmine, Narcissa, Jonquil, Nigella, Phoebe, Kestrel, Linnet, Phyllis, Minuet, Calliope, Claudia, Antoinette, Margaret, Matilda, Genevieve, Virginia, Rowena, Gwendolen, Victoria
James, Simon, Alexander, Morgan, Xavier, Oliver, Silas, Pascal, Sirius, Octavian, Atticus, Phoenix, Francis, Aramis, Nicholas, Finlay, Cassian, Maximilian, Sebastian, Roland

Okay I was just going to post about my baby octuplets but then I was talking to Norah (from BtN) on facebook and she told me iTunes is charging $1.29 for songs now. wtf. I appreciate the cost and effort that goes into producing music, but that price is ridiculous. I can buy a CD that has 15 songs for $12. Why is the price higher on iTunes? I mean these high prices are just driving more people to download music illegally. On that topic - wth is up with fining a woman $2,000,000 for downloading music? Yeah sure fine her for it but that is ridiculous. An example? Pfft I know for sure none of my friends are afraid of getting in trouble for using limewire to share music.

Anyway I was taking a myspace survey because I have no life and there was this wonderful question:

If you had octuplets, four girls and four boys, what would you name them?

Evadne Catharine, Antigone Ruth, Persephone Elanor, Calliope Gloria, Morpheus Kain, Hector Carl, Phineas Nathaniel, and Remus Matthew. Evey, Tigger or Annie, Sephie, Callie, Morphy, Hector, Finn, and Remy.

Hehehe.

Evadne Catharine is my number one stock gotta-use-it combo. Evadne is my mom's favorite name, and Catharine was my mom's grandmother.

Antigone Ruth is for a childhood playmate of mine, Tigger, and a mentor of mine. Plus I really like the character of Antigone - giving everything to honor a loved one and rebel against a corrupt leader is a good quality in my book.

I just like Persephone, and Elanor is for my maternal grandmother, Eleanor.

Calliope is another name I like, and my paternal grandmother is named Gloria.

So by now I had a theme with the first names.

I love Morpheus, and my oldest brother is Kain. I'd worry about my other older brother being jealous but that would be dumb of him so I don't care.

Hector's another super cool Greek name, and Carl is a common name in my mom's family. Her older brother is Carl David, her birth father was Carl Somethingorother, her stepfather was Charles, and her grandfather was Carl Samesomethingorotherasherfather.

Phineas is a totally awesome snarky name imo. Nathaniel is after my trig teacher, Natalie, who's been a major influence in my high school life. She's a really really great woman, and she goes out of her way to help students, and gives the exceptional students in her trig classes (Daniel and me) special projects (writing a computer program) so we don't get bored during the last two weeks of school after finals (stay out of her hair). Anyhow I absolutely adore Natalie. I wish I could fit her in as a mn Natalia but there aren't enough babies to name. :(

-->And Remus Matthew. Remus reminds me of Thirteen from House because her real name's Remy. I have a lot in common with Thirteen, and so will any children I have - incurable progressive genetic disease and all. Matthew is a common middle name in my dad's family (his, Kain's, and his granddad's, plus some further back) so it's kind of traditional. Plus my Mormon friend I can't see for 2 years has a good friend named Matthew that we always joke about me hooking up with. So it can either be a reminiscent joke or the babies' daddy. Whatev.

So now after the Natalie thing I really wanna give them double middle names. Go namenerd ambition!

Evadne Catharine, Antigone Ruth, Persephone Elanor, Calliope Gloria, Morpheus Kain, Hector Carl, Phineas Nathaniel, and Remus Matthew. Evey, Tigger or Annie, Sephie, Callie, Morphy, Hector, Finn, and Remy.

Those are the originals.

Um.

Evadne Catharine Blanche (Grandma Eleanor's middle name)

Antigone Natalia Ruth (see Phineas Nathaniel)

Persephone Lucretia Elanor (My best friend is Lucrecia)

Calliope Susan Gloriana (Great-step-aunt Susan tis awesome, Susan in new Narnia vids tis awesome, Susan as a name tis awesome, Gloriana sounds better in this combo than Gloria)

Morpheus Balthazar Kain (hehe Balthazar is fun to say)

Hector Levi Carl (just a cool name)

Phineas Christopher Lucian (other brother feels better now, Lucian gives me my snark back)

Remus Matthew Gerard (after Gerard Way, both 'cause MCR is my dirty not-so-secret and as another in-joke with Dal and his friends)

I also seriously considered throwing in Daniel, Kieran, Dallin, Eric, but I'm falling out of love with Daniel (both figuratively and literally), Kieran is a super-cool name but I don't want my ex-psychopath to think I'm honoring him when he discovers this blog, I think Dallin might be sacrilege, and Eric is just a really bad name imo even if it is the name of one of my male mentors / math teachers ('cause math teachers=the nerdy bomb).

I'm thrilled with this now.

Evadne Catharine Blanche, Antigone Natalia Ruth, Persephone Lucretia Elanor, Calliope Susan Gloriana, Morpheus Balthazar Kain, Hector Levi Carl, Phineas Christopher Lucian, Remus Matthew Gerard. Evey, Annie, Sephie, Callie, Morph, Hector, Finn, Remy. <3<3<3

Ughhh college stuff sucks. I can't decide ANYTHING about it now. I really want to move away from here and my family and the environment I spent my teen years in, yet I constantly meet adversity insofar as being able to care for myself. I spent three days struggling to get out of bed and finally mastered that, then couldn't freaking change the goshdarn sheets. I can finally bend down and pick a book up from the floor from my chair without a reacher, but I can't stay down long enough to put on my shoes. It's SO frustrating. I can't even begin to plan for my future because I have no idea what I'm going to be able to do. Gosh I stress over this way too much. I just so desperately need to be away from this place before I go (farther) insane. Cause ya know right now two strangers are sitting beside me on the couch talking to my dad about how horrible it is when atheists and gay women and bleeding heart liberals join AA. Yeah cause I need to hear this. Grrrrr I hate my life sometimes. I mean I KNOW I can go to college and succeed academically but I don't know if I can get dressed after I shower.

So we're finally reading some Shakespeare in school. I say "finally" because we only read Romeo and Juliet in 9th grade and NOTHING in 10th grade. That's right. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Well actually that isn't entirely true. The teacher did remember his obligation to teach the Pre-AP English class about Julius Caesar the day before the final. Hence the Julius Caesar Rap - which did not please the AP English teacher when she found out about it a few months later. Oh, no. Not at all.
So we've been speed-reading Shakespeare along with all the poetry, Kate Chopin, and really boring social examinations. (Hills Like White Elephants? The Awakening? The Great Gatsby?)
So far this semester, we've covered Hamlet, Othello, and several poems. We're set to cover Taming of the Shrew, Measure for Measure, and Macbeth by the AP test (May 7th) - at least I think that's it. I know she wants to actually do Julius Caesar after the test for sure, and possibly - I think - King Lear.
Anyway. Arriving at point.
Shakespeare was definitely the best early namenerd. I mean, Lillian has him beat, but he was good.

Calphurnia
Cinna
Cassius (I think this must have been his favorite 'cause he uses it so many times)
Bianca (Bianca Bianca Bianca, I love Bianca)
Paris (I love love love Paris, as a GP, but I love it - not on a girl)
Tybalt
Balthasar
Romeo
Juliet & Julia
Gertrude (<3 Gertrude!)
Laertes (I love to say this)
Ophelia (Again, sooo much fun to say)
Elbow
Octavia

Oh, Octavia reminds me. I love V's lately.
Octavia
Minerva
Avril
Avani & Avanti
Evadne - Well this has been my favorite girls name for a really long time but it still has a V in it
Devorah - Read this in a kid's book I was reading for Book Review
Kavita - Means poem
Ziva - Means kickass Israeli NCIS officer (srsly, look it up)
Lavanya - Can't decide - is it too much like Laverne (I hate hate hate hate HATE Laverne)
Lavinia - Definitely love this, although it reminds me of a spoiled rich woman in the book series I read compulsively from ages 7 to 11)
Nevaeh - Jussssst kidding
Ginevra - Screw Rowling
Parvati - Double screw Rowling
Shivali
Svetlana
Veronica & Vanessa (I like -essa names too, like Contessa etc)
Xavia - Isn't this name HOT?

It feels so good not to have to include a sig saying I'm not pregnant at the end of this!

Morgan Zeus. Yes. Zeus.

Please tell me I'm crazy.

I was taking a myspace survey, and one of the questions asked what I would name a baby boy if I gave birth right now. I said Jesus, being, um, not fertilized at this time. But I'm really digging Morgan right now. So... Morgan Jesus. Ew. Pronounced it the Hispanic way... Ole! Morgan Jesus -> Morgan Zeus.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. It kind of sort of honors someone with the Zeus part, though. (Charlie, smack me for that.)

So... Morgan Zeus. Whaddya think?

GRR I'M SO SICK OF BEHINDTHENAME!

When Array posted all of those things about BtNers on her blog, I was pretty upset. I didn't understand why she felt the way she did. Now... I totally get it. Grr.

I really really really really really really REALLY suck at writing blog entries. Either I start treating it like a private diary (stupid) or I end up not writing in it at all. Of course, that doesn't stop me from blogging. It's an addiction. Like skittles. Or the Facebook flair application. So, here I am again. Me and my idiotic default picture. Woohoo.

One of my favorite topics is names. Yeah, I'm weird. Today I met a baby named Adric Constantine. I think that is absolutely wonderful. It flows beautifully, is neither overused nor distasteful, and will age well. I wouldn't name my own son Adric, but I admire his parents for doing so!
